Move to new premises for national newspaper

During the period February 2006 – February 2007 Paloma Consulting Limited were engaged to assist Telegraph Media Group, incorporating The Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Telegraph. The work carried out included planning and executing the move of all operations from the company’s offices on Canada Square, Canary Wharfe in London’s docklands, to a new site in Victoria, London SW1. The group managing director recognised that the physical move gave an opportunity for considerable efficiency savings and culture change. Consequently a considerable portion of the work involved workflow analysis, establishment and review of key performance indicators for the group, a move from being print focused to multimedia, establishment of a “hub and spoke” work organisation and seating and a focus on right first time and continuous improvement.

The move to Victoria was completed on time and within budget, with no disruption to newspaper output. The project was considered to be a great success, and the project leader was appointed editor of the Daily Telegraph. Paloma’s consultant was subsequently appointed Assistant Managing Editor for Telegraph Media Group in February 2007.

Telegraph Media Group would have no hesitation in recommending Paloma Consulting Limited to any prospective client who seeks to improve their processes, streamline their operations and eliminate waste.
